Okafor for Chandler?

According to nba.com the Bobcats and the Hornets are in talks to swap Emeka Okafor for Tyson Chandler. The deal could be official by Tuesday and it is said that more players will be involved in the deal.

It's surprising to see the Bobcats giving up on the double, double and shot blocking machine so early in his career. Emeka Okafor is only 26 (same age as Chandler) but he was the number 2 pick in 2004. Okafor has career averages of 14.9 ppg, 11.3 rpg and 1.9 blocks per game and you trade him? Come on M.J. what are you doing?

On the other hand it is not surprising that the Hornets are going to deal Chandler. Tyson Chandler has career averages of 8.2 ppg, 9 rpg, and 1.4 blocks per game (his rebounding numbers have spiked up the past 3 seasons). They had a trade in place last season to deal Chandler but his turf toe got in the way and he failed his physical with the OKC Thunder. Tyson and CP3 were clearly upset with the move and it was puzzling why they would even do this. Chris Paul is the Hornets organization and pissing him off is dumb. However, adding Okafor would be a solid replacement for the now disgruntled Tyson Chandler, depending if he passes his physical this time.

Charlotte making a trade with the Hornets....it still sounds weird to me.
